What deposit is required to book, and when is the balance due?

As a general rule, a 30% deposit is requested at booking, and the balance is due 60 days before arrival.

Is there a security deposit, and when is it refunded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The amount is set by the owner, and Alexandra will let you know. It is normally refunded within 30 days. If there is no damage to the house and with the owner’s agreement, Alexandra returns it as quickly as possible.

What is the minimum length of stay in high season?

Accepted Answer

Usually one week, but it depends on the property: sometimes two weeks, sometimes a full month, according to each owner’s conditions.

What are the cancellation and amendment terms?

Accepted Answer

Each owner has their own cancellation and amendment policy. Cancellation insurance exists to cover you if you have to cancel your stay, and Alexandra can put you in touch with companies that offer it.

Are tourist tax, cleaning, linen and utilities included in the price?

Accepted Answer

Tourist tax is rarely included. For cleaning, linen and utilities, it depends on each owner. Alexandra tries to have them included whenever possible, but the owner sets their own terms.

What extra services do you offer (chef, concierge, boat, transfers, staff)?

Accepted Answer

All of them: chef, concierge, boat hire, transfers, household staff, and more according to your wishes.

Are pets allowed?

Alexandra is a great animal lover and will do everything she can to have your dog, for example, accepted. Unfortunately the decision is not hers: she has to ask each owner for permission.

Question 8

What are the arrival and departure times?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule, arrival is from 4 pm and departure is before 10 am. If no one is leaving or arriving the same day, it is often possible to ask for some flexibility, but this is harder in summer.

Question 9

When is the best time to rent, and when should I book for summer?

As early as possible. Rates do not change much, even at the last minute; the only difference is that the choice is far more limited.

How do I check a property’s availability?

Simply send an enquiry. Our properties are often offered by other agents too, which is why Alexandra prefers to speak directly with the owner to confirm availability.
